Pics from Winter Xtreme 09

Xtreme was a blast again this year and I was glad to be with such good friends backing me up. Here are some pics of us leading worship and of Marcus, Matt, and Jake being...

50 Years of Marriage

My wife and I drove down to Deland, Florida to celebrate her grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. She worked really hard to bring it all together and managed to keep it a surprise to boot. My wife is super great at surprises (remind me to tell you about my 30th birthday sometime) and it always makes...

Day 1 of Winter Xtreme 2009

We’re blessed to be leading worship up here in Pigeon Forge for Winter Xtreme once again. I brought with me some great leaders from Oak Leaf Church to be my band this year. Very proud! I’ve been loading up images on the camera I got for Christmas so as soon as I figure out how...

Technical Problems

my website has been down for quite some time. Finally got it working again thanks to the amazing magical wonders of the super Seth Skinner. while I was away, I was working on a redesign just to have something up and am now contemplating actually changing my theme all together. not sure what to do....

Week 4

So I decided to try something revolutionary. My first week of camp made eating right a bit difficult but I held strong until the weekend. Saturday night my wife and I went on a date and decided to try Big Pie in the Sky pizza which is right down the road from our house (and...

SuperWOW Fort Walton Week 1

What a great week! What a great group of students. Excited and passionate about worship God. Technology was our enemy this week – computers failing, in-ears breaking, power black outs, you name it – but GOD WAS STILL GLORIFIED!!! We don’t need no stinkin’ tech to worship God! My favorite part about the week was...

Week 3

This week was frustrating. I kept to my diet but actually gained weight. I upped the amount of weight I was using in the routine and so I know people are going to say, “muscle weighs more than fat” which I will quickly respond, “but that doesn’t help me if it is hidden by the...

Wireless Power Is Coming

This is the one thing I wish I was smart enough to invent. I had the idea a long time ago but of course…I’m not a scientist or engineer so I had no idea where to even begin. Plus, all the smart people who did have the know how were already working on it behind...

Week 2

WEEK 2 They say the first two weeks are the hardest and well…it was pretty hard. I pushed myself further than I ever have before. 40 minute non-stop workout routine followed by either a 30-45 minute run or an hour bike ride (one in which I rode from Acworth to Cartersville to work) for six...

I’m Not On A Diet. I’m Eating As God Intended.

WEEK 1 I’m on a workout routine and am changing what I eat to help the results. Specifically I am doing Power90 which as I understand it is P90x for slower, fatter, more out of shape people (like myself). Basically, it is an older version of P90x with phases that allow a weak, pathetic individual...

Obama or McCain or…

Posted 1 year, 10 months ago in Politics

I’ve been wanting to write some of my thoughts on all this political mess for sometime. I ran across this blog and could only read a couple of posts before my eyes were starting to stick the top of my head so I had to move on and hope the taste of the puke in my mouth could be combated with a fruit roll-up.

This election is so crappy I don’t even know where to begin. So instead of trying to monologue a bunch of bologna that isn’t going to change anybody’s mind, I’m just going to make a list of some of the thoughts i’ve had the past several weeks.

  1. McCain is a coward (UPDATE: not coward in the heroic soldier sense…only as a politician running for president)
  2. Obama is a puppet master (and probably a puppet himself)
  3. Sarah Palin was a brilliant choice for campaign salvation
  4. I don’t want a women president and i don’t care if that sounds chauvinistic
  5. I’d rather have a statesman than a politician to choose from this November…but i guess i’m not that blessed
  6. We’ve been weaning people off welfare for over a decade now down below 2,000,000 people. Whya re we wanting to jump-start it all over again by giving money to people who aren’t working to earn it?
  7. If the race was between the VP candidates, it would be much more interesting
  8. Joe Biden’s speech at his VP nomination was my favorite but I wonder how much of what he said they can/will actually do/be able to do
  9. Poor old Joe the Plumber. The guy might as well change the name of his business and his last name cause he’ll never be known as anything else.
  10. Wonder how Obama can be president but couldn’t be his own secret service agent because of his past associations
  11. What exactly is a maverick…yeah…not seeing the rebellion or independent thinking
  12. Will Biden continue to undercut his running mate with foot-in-the-mouth comments after the election…especially if they win?
  13. “Caribou Barbie” is one thing…”Sarah Palin is a c$^@” is probably over the line. Pretty sure anybody wearing a shirt at a protest rally that said “Obama is a n@%#$&” would probably be considered inappropriate.
  14. Anytime McCain says something intelligent, he looks like he is reading from notes he wrote listening to talk radio trying to get a good defensive strategy.
  15. Socialism? If the election goes the way the polls say it will, we can say hello to a fairness indoctrinated egalitarian society
  16. Presidential campaigns are good for SNL…it hasn’t been this good in a while
  17. Trying to come up with a list of good things the Bush admin has done right has helped me realize…that list is really short
  18. The Howard Stern “man on the street” interviews are very telling.
  19. How is it if McCain is so against earmarks he voted for a $700 billion bailout package that was full of them? And now that the bailout numbers are up to about $2 trillion, which candidate is going to stop the snowball?
  20. If Barack wins, he is either going to prove so many people wrong and do great things, or he is going to prove a whole lot of other people wrong and really mess up the America of our forfathers. Either way, 50% of this country is going to be happy…and that is the scariest part.
