Product Spotlight: Presonus StudioLive Digital Mixer

Does anybody own one of these yet? Since I heard about this hitting the market I’ve wanted to get my hands on one to see how it sounds and functions.
But just the idea of having an easy to use 16 channel hybrid console with memory recall, comp, limited, gate, eq, & a full meter on each channel, built in assignable effects, 6 aux outs, and 18 channels of record compatible with logic for under $2000 has got me pumped about this products potential and what else might be introduced into the marwet to compete with it (whew…long sentence).
I know presonus is not pro level gear but some of their stuff sounds really good and their AP-88 is a great machine (which is what the comp, limited, and gate are modeled after).
Here is how look at it. When I pieced together my portable live/recording rig a few years back with the Mackie 1640 onyx board with optional firewire interface & put comp/gate on every channel and put it all in a case, it cost close to $4000. To be able to do that again with more functionality at half the cost is a no brainer and I’m wondering why I haven’t already.
that’s right. I still haven’t heard what it sounds like.
so does anybody have one of these I can get my hands on to test out?
