The Brick Testament: Bible in Lego

Posted by:

I’ve been reading through the Bible with Ean but there are some parts we have to skip over either because they are a little over his head or not exactly the most entertaining passage. Then I came across this. Wish they would cover everything, but it is pretty impressive as is. Maybe they’ll keep adding more.

Do you have a favorite way to read the Bible to ...

Answers to Questions

Posted by:

I received an email from a fellow creative arts pastor, Andy Goswick, asking some leadership questions and I thought i’d post my replies here for all to read. Hope my answers are good.

1. What is worship to you? it is a response to something with wholehearted affection, loyalty, and energy. anything that receives our attention, priority, and is recieving our worship.
2. In what ways can we worship or through what venues can we worship? by absolutely everything we do ...

Supermodel – Model Parent

Posted by:

There are 10,000 gumballs at the OLC office if any body is looking for a fix to there sweet tooth. And if you don’t understand why, you should have been at church. Does anybody read this who does not go to church? I’m actually curious. Does anybody read this anyway. My stats say I have zero readers and zero subscribers. Pretty sure that is not completely accurate but it might just be making fun of me. Anyway, great sunday and great message. ...

I Finally Did It…

Posted by:

My treo broke and after five years on sprint service, my contract ran out as if the stars were aligning. So, after a successful garage sell, canceling our tv service and home phone line, and the good people at sprint provided me with a new replacement that has found it’s way onto eBay, jamie and I had our date night at the AT&T store and walked out with our early Christmas present to each other – iPhones. In fact, this ...

Digital Mirror Display?

Can I get one of these for my house?

Better yet, can I get a large one to put on stage? Seriously, how much more intersting would Sunday sermons be with this tol to use for visual aids.

How else could something like this be used?

12 Quick Leadership Thoughts

Posted by:

I read this today and came away with some interesting leadership thoughts.

  1. People flock to those who are real and passionate about what they believe (v. 1)
  2. Those in authority have authority so listen when they speak (v. 2)
  3. But authority does not equal leadership if there is no respect or exemplification (v. 3)
  4. Passing all the burden and responsibilities onto others will not keep your hands clean (v. 4)
  5. Anything done to build pride is done for the wrong reasons (v. 5)
  6. Glory ...

Art in the Ordinarily Boring

Posted by:

I love finding stuff like this because it shows how it only takes an idea and some determination to make something really beautiful and creative from relatively nothing new. Just so you know, the videos below are all done without CGI or massive post-production effects. They are real boats, real people, in real life environments…but everything looks like a glorified scale model.

Obama or McCain or…

Posted by:

I’ve been wanting to write some of my thoughts on all this political mess for sometime. I ran across this blog and could only read a couple of posts before my eyes were starting to stick the top of my head so I had to move on and hope the taste of the puke in my mouth could be combated with a fruit roll-up.

This election is so crappy I don’t even know where to begin. So instead of ...

Sorting Silverware

Posted by:

My wife asked a question on her blog today based on a quick conversation we had this morning before I left for work. Here is the shot version:

Should you sort the silverware as you put them in the dishwasher or as you take them out to put away?

Join the discusion over on her site. The comments alone are worth the trip over there.

Then come back over here and tell me i’m right.
