My brother is typically way more knowledgeable about sports teams and professional athletes than I am, but I was definitely right on this one. Last year the Saints came out of nowhere and everyone thought they had a chance to make it all the way to the dance. Labor Day weekend we gathered at my parent’s newly finished basement and watched what some people said was a preview of this year’s Super Bowl – Colts vs Saints. Not being completely sure of myself, I thought the Saints of 2006 were much like the Falcons of 2008 and would probably not have as much success without the Hurricane Katrina momentum pushing them forward. And I know the season is not over yet, but afer watching them lose so badly tonight, It’s a pretty safe bet I can claim a little pride for my premonition. Now, if only I could figure out a way to wish some talent and success into the Falcons’ roster.

Overall, a good weekend for football with a few surprises to keep us all on our toes. Jamie and I did a little better on our picks this week going 10-6, but we are still so far out of the race it might just be better to see how many picks we can get wrong. As for my first experience in a fantasy football league, I am raking it in having the most points over all the second week in a row and completely destroying my opponent. I might not know what I’m doing, but it sure does feel good to be winning.
