It has been pretty crazy busy for me and my crew getting ready for the Rockin’ Christmas Eve Eve concert coming up next week. After hearing yesterday that we had given out over 1000 tickets and as far as anyone can tell that number actually represents persons that will be attending, it looks like we are in for an amazingly excited crowd and probably a few broken fire codes (let’s keep that just between us, okay).

For those in attendance yesterday, there were quite a few exciting elements. We previewed a couple of the songs from the Eve Eve concert and showed a pretty funny (though quite repetitive) contemporary video rendition of the 12 days of Christmas. I should point out that I’ve decided to do my best to have some of the most exciting elements of the service at the very beginning so all those who come in late really miss something great and maybe choose not to be late anymore.

Of course, the biggest surprise came at the end when Michael announced we were giving back one week’s worth of offering to the people in attendance to enable them to make a difference in the community before Christmas. Everyone got an envelope with cash in it – even those who have never given a dime to the church. Some envelopes had $10, some $100, some $250, and a couple even had $500.
