Prayer Guide Day 5 – Mitch Moyer

Posted by:

My prayer for Oak Leaf Church’s opening Sunday at the Movie Theater is as follows:

Pray that droves of new people will check it out for the first time.

Pray that those who live north of town who checked out on us for a while because of distance will come back again.

Pray that our first Sunday will be a great example of what we are trying to do there.  You ...

Great students, authentic worship, lives changed, amazing conversations…two great weeks in a row and can’t wait until next week with Ergun Caner. Thanks to all you guys who made the week so memorable. We didn’t really like getting beat in dodgeball or volleyball, but it was worth the loss to see so many decisions made. We pray they stick!!!

Prayer Guide Day 4 – Me

Posted by:

We have made the word "worship" synonymous with the music we sing on Sunday morning and forgotten it is a lifestyle and a mindset that extends far beyond the boundaries of a one hour experience on Sunday mornings. If we really want to see people taken from where they are to where God wants them to be, we must first be willing to accept that mission ourselves, transform our worship into a ...

Today’s prayers come to you via Jonathan, our Family Pastor.

Reaching kids and families is not a secondary thing at Oak Leaf. It’s not an afterthought. And Kidventure (preschool & elementary) is not a low priority. In fact, it’s a top priority! We don’t want Sunday morning to just be a church service. We don’t want it to be just ...

OLC Sunday Report

Posted by:

The last day at Woodland was joyous and sad at the same time. I’m going to miss that stage…but it is not about me. Michael encouraged all of us to do something together as a church this week to prepare for the first week back in the movie theatre. Everyday, one of the staff is going to submit a list of prayer requests and we are all going to share them on ...

Summer Gathering/Camp Nachomamma

Posted by:

It is always a blessing to walk into a camp as totally strangers and walk away believing you’ve made life long friends. We’ve played for much bigger crowds with much sharper production and much more posh facilities, but these guys were being moved by God…and so were we. What an honor it was to spend a week with people so ready to give God everything and worship Him ...

Delirious?, You Will Be Missed!

The band that helped usher in the modern worship movement is calling it quits come the end of 2009. Can we all join hands and sing a chorus of “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever” to pay our respects?

What is your favorite Delirious tune?

With or Against God

After Amaziah came from striking down the Edomites, he brought the gods of the men of Seir and set them up as his gods and worshiped them, making offerings to them. – 2 Chronicles 25:14

It used to be that everyone attributed their success and failure to to blessing and curse of some higher being. Today, many people will pat themselves on the back when something goes well and blame others when it doesn’t. That is just as much idolatry ...
