OLC Sunday Report (6-8-08)

Great morning! Tons of energy. People gave their life to Christ and the sense that something enormous is about to happen is gaining steam. I changed a few things to be less distracted on Sunday and it really paid off as I was able to pay complete attention to my role as worship leader and let my people do their job. It was a refreshing morning.

Here is the ...

Here is a new service that I’m in love with. Imagine reading the Bible and having at your fingertips the collective minds and study notes of a huge body of people who are reading the same thing you are. Imagine having a place to log all of your notes and journal entries as you study the bible and having instant access to everything you’ve written at the push ...

Music Monday: Gavin Degraw

Gavin Degraw - Gavin Degraw (C+)

In the now famous words of Randy, it was just okay for me, dawg. I mean, I liked it alright, but I’m a little depressed I spent $13 at Target instead of $10 on Amazon. I do like his style and some of the songs are really fun to listen to. I guess I was expecting more. Then again, maybe I’m just ...

OLC Sunday Report (6-01-08)

Wrapping up out Summer Reading series this week with a focus on a great book about evangelism called “Just Walk Across the Room.” We asked all of our people to write the names of their one on some blank banners that go in those pop up displays that we can put around the stage and in the lobby every week. Outside of a little error that caused us to get off the video, it was a great Sunday. I even ...

ROOV.com Stories from ROOV.com on Vimeo.

What is ROOV? Watch the video to catch the idea. Could this be the next big social networking outlet for passionate people and churches? Can this tool be used to better reach your community? It has potential, but I’m already bored with it.

OLC Sunday Report (5-25-08)

Powerful Memorial Day service. Spotlights hit the Honor guard as they walked down the isle of a silent auditorium. Marcus played the National Anthem with an enormous flag waving across the three screen set-up. Then I played “If You Are Reading This” with names of the most recent fallen soldiers scrolling on the screens behind me. Moving to say the least. The message was on video this morning ...

Indiana Jones 4…ugh

NOTE: Don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled.

Did I miss something? Is that really the best idea they could come up with in the near 20 years they had to come up with a good plot? For those who haven’t seen it, I don’t want to spoil it…but…uh…when this movie finally makes it to TV, you should expect to see it regularly with X-files reruns on ...

9 years and counting!

Posted by:

I love my wife. I’ve said it many times and I’ll say many more. 9th anniversaries don’t get the same glorification as the 5s and 10s. But I’m excited none the less.

So what are we doing? Well, we already sort of did it – cruise, spa treatment, et al. However, tonight, I’ve something special for her. Should be a complete surprise…though I’m betting I get punched in the arm.
