Rockin’ Christmas Eve Eve a Huge Success

Posted by:

It’d be a lie to say I have not been a little stressed out the past few weeks. Late nights and little time with my family has worn me thin. But…tonight’s show was worth it all. I am so proud of everyone involved. Most of the guys in the band had never played in front of a crowd that large. The room was literally as packed as it could have been. The excitement level was high. There was not an ...

The Deal of a Lifetime

Posted by:

So I bought a Chyrsler Aspen yesterday. See my previous post on how much I hate shopping for cars. My father in law is a master negotiator and I learned a lot sitting in a couple times as he negotiated rock bottom pricing. His hat trick is the “get up and leave.” Works every time. Just say it’s too much and walk out. They want to sell you a car and will follow you down the street on ...

A New Car for Christmas?

Posted by:

I hate buying cars. What a horrible business. It is one of the few retail systems that mark up their products an average of 15% over their cost (most mark up close to 100%) and it is automatically assumed the price is negotiable. I would hate to be a car salesman – setting traps, manipulating the consumer, doing whatever it takes to get them to leave the lot with a car even if they are not ready to buy. ...

I Am In The Championship Game!

Posted by:

My picks may have fallen off the deep end putting me 10 games back from first place, but my fantasy team has made it to the championship game. And if there was any team that made the playoffs I had a chance of beating, it is team I am matched up against this week. You know, people say God doesn’t answer prayers to help people win sporting events, but I bet somewhere someone prayed for snow in New England and ...

OLC Sunday Report (12-16-07)

Posted by:

It has been pretty crazy busy for me and my crew getting ready for the Rockin’ Christmas Eve Eve concert coming up next week. After hearing yesterday that we had given out over 1000 tickets and as far as anyone can tell that number actually represents persons that will be attending, it looks like we are in for an amazingly excited crowd and probably a few broken fire codes (let’s keep that just between us, okay).

For those in attendance yesterday, ...

I Want Rock Band for Christmas

Posted by:

Every Saturday night, my wife and I try our best to go on some kind of date. Sometimes those dates wouldn’t look like much of a date to anyone observing from the outside. Like tonight, we were out shopping for some new Christmas decorations to replace stuff we’ve had since our first year of marriage and made a stop by Best Buy to check out this new game everyone is talking about. What game is that? Well, it is called ...

NFL Week 13

Posted by:

nfl_logo.gifMy colleagues poke at the fact I prefer professional football over college or the fact I have little to no interest in college athletics at all. Now I’m not going to downplay the excitement you college fans are having this year with the roller coaster ride teams have put the BCS through. But somebody please tell me how anyone who is not already a Georgia fan is supposed to get excited about the fact that a ...

What Have I Been Doing?

Posted by:

It has been 12 days since my last post and I’ve got so much great stuff I have been waiting to have time to write about. Well, now I’ve got time and I want to put it all down right now before I forget, but it would be the longest post of all time and pretty lame if it all was posted on teh same day – so here is what I’m going to do. I’m going to write the ...

OLC Sunday Report (11/25/07)

Posted by:

This was the last part of our Confessions of a Pastor series. Tim Samples spoke today since Michael and Anthony were out at the FSU vs UF game and did a great job. We did a small acoustic set with djembe and trap set, acoustic guitar and keyboard. Joel Bridges led this morning and did a great job as well.

Since this part of the series was on “doubt,” we opened with Lifehouse’s “Spin.” Teh rest of the set list was ...

Real Washington Pics

Posted by:

These pictures I actually took from real life unlike the fake one from the previous post. My wife has put others I took on her site. Go have a look. I’ve got some others I’ll post later. I’d actually like to figure out how to do a slide show instead of a long scrolling picture display.
