Back In The Studio

Posted by:

studio1.jpgWell, here we go again. I’m back in the studio recording a new project. It is particularly exciting because I am actually recording it in an award winning studio with ridiculously talented musicians from New York and Nashville along with a few of my favorites from around town. We’ve got about 17 songs we’re going to knock down to 12 when it is all said and done. I’ll post a final list of the ...

Some Days Are Hard to Rejoice

Posted by:

This morning I woke up with a sore knee. I’ve never had knee problems so I first thought I had just slept on it wrong. As the day wore on, the knee got worse. So much so, by about lunch time, I could barely walk. Of course, my wife and my mom made me go to some urgent care place near where we were. I’m not a fan of doctor’s offices and usually only go when I have to. This ...

NFL Week 7

Posted by:

nfl_logo.gifWell, last week was a little better for me. 9-4 and a fantasy win. But I already have a feeling this week is going to be pretty lame. My wife and I are a team in our pick league, but I end up making all the picks. Well, this week I asked her to do it and it didn’t get done iby last night when they were due. In fact, the moderator of our league called ...

Bruce Springsteen and Feist

Posted by:

springsteen_magic.jpgMagic – Bruce Springsteen (C-)

I’ve never been a big Springsteen fan and this is not the album to buy to become one, which is sad considering all the critical acclaim this project has received. If the pictures in the jacket are accurate, the E-Street Band has about 50 members (9 actually) which is exactly what the album sounds like. There is way too much noise. Every song has a sax solo. Most songs ...

Two Churches?

Posted by:

Yeah, I go to two churches. What about it? Oak Leaf Church only meets on Sunday morning since they don’t have their own building yet and FBC Woodstock has stuff going on everyday of the week. Plus my family and I enjoy being involved at both. Is that a problem? No…maybe…I don’t know…does it really matter?

Needy Church People

Posted by:

I’ve been to hundreds of different churches whether as just a visitor or to lead worship in some capacity. They are all different and all have similarities. But one thing I have noticed is consistent at every church is a collection of people who think it is all about them and their needs. You know who I’m talking about. The people who complain about the song selection or that the music is too loud or not loud enough. Those aggressive ...

A Mighty Big Blessing

Posted by:

Every Saturday night is date night for Jamie and me. Her parents have created a routine for our boys where they take them around 6:00 PM and they spend the night so Jamie can get ready for church with a little less stress that early in the morning. It is a really nice deal for us and especially her.

This Saturday night, I took Jamie to Henry’s in Acworth. She had never been and I knew she would like it ...

NFL Week 6

Posted by:

nfl_logo.gifWell, so much for my streak. Went 7-7 on several upsets and ended up losing my fantasy game in the last two seconds of Monday Night Football. Did you watch that game? I couldn’t believe it. I stopped watching thinking it was done and happened to catch something a few hours later on Sports Center just before I turned my TV off claiming Dallas had won. WHAT?!?!? How could that be? So my wife and ...

Cheap Gas

Posted by:

My wife is the one in the family who keeps all those rewards card things places hand out like candy these days. She packs her wallet full of them just in case she happens to remember to use it the next time she is in the place. Of course, most of the time she’d forget to ever use them again. However, at Kroger, they’ve got a system that works better than most. You don’t actually need the card to get ...

I Love My Wife…

Posted by:

…and have a shirt to prove it.

I stayed up with my wife yesterday as she worked on her blog which I believe she finally has up and running. In fact, aesthetically, it looks better than mine and now I’m jealous. Don’t be surprised if you come back here and see some new decorations. I’ve got to get on the ball.

Anyway, today was the 14th anniversary of her accident and she has written a moving reflection about her memories ...
