I Love My Wife…

Posted by:

…and have a shirt to prove it.

I stayed up with my wife yesterday as she worked on her blog which I believe she finally has up and running. In fact, aesthetically, it looks better than mine and now I’m jealous. Don’t be surprised if you come back here and see some new decorations. I’ve got to get on the ball.

Anyway, today was the 14th anniversary of her accident and she has written a moving reflection about her memories ...

Where Will Technology Be In 10 years?

Posted by:

When my son asks me to pause the TV so he can go potty or call is Papa while we are driving down the road or to go to the Pixar website so he can play a game, I can’t help but wonder what kind of technology will be available to him in ten, twenty, thirty, and even forty years from now. I’ve already posted about wireless power and controlling computers with your brain

Now there is a ...

Oak Leaf’s first service at Woodland has come and gone and I have to say, I’m a little glad the day is finally over. Only six more days until we have to do it all again. Check out a video of the service here.

Here are a few lessons I learned today during Oak Leaf’s first service at Woodland High School:

1. It really is impossible to be in more than one place at a time.

2. ProVideoPlayer is one of ...

It’s Go Time!

Posted by:

I can’t even begin to count the headaches and ulcers I’ve accumulated the last couple of weeks. But this is it…tomorrow morning is Oak Leaf’s first day at Woodland High School. I’m about to lay my head down and hope I can actually fall asleep wondering what else in the world could go wrong tomorrow considering all the mess that hasn’t gone right so far. All the hours of prayer and God-sought wisdom in the last six weeks since we ...

NFL Week 5

Posted by:

nfl_logo.gifIt has taken me a few weeks to get back on track, but I think after my 11-3 week last week, I am finally hitting my stride. That puts my grand total for the year at 38-24. In fact, we (as in my wife and I) jumped from last place to a tie for 5th – out of 14 teams in case you were wondering – and only three games behind first place. On ...

Sharp Top Cove with MPCS

Posted by:

I’ve played a ton of places; many camp facilities and retreat centers, but I have never been to any place like this. AND it is only an hour from my house. Sharp Top Cove in Jasper, GA is hands down, no question, the nicest, best looking, most exciting retreat center I have ever been to. Our cabin looks like something you’d find up in the mountains on some private golf course community. They do not do the typical buffet style ...

Being a pretty big Beatles fan, I’m always looking for a new angle on some classic McCartney and Lennon. Now, I haven’t seen the movie, so I can’t speak for its quality. But if the soundtrack is any taste of what the film will be like, my wife will not have much say in the movie choice next time we have a free night to go watch ...

Good Conversations

Posted by:

Had a good talk with a dear friend of mine today while I wandered around Circuit City with my soon to be 5 year-old son. I love Russ Butcher and miss being around him. He makes me laugh. More and more of my friends are planting churches or really settling into the ministry God has been conditioning them for over the past few years. As amazing as it is to see God move in so many lives through ...
