WGC Part 3: Principles vs. Practices

Posted by:

wgc_logo_only2Anybody can take a list of to-dos and knock them out overtime. But once that list has run its course, you’re going to just need a new list. Knowing what to do is completely necessary but it will eventually lead to the “now what” road block. Skills sort of work the same way. Having the giftedness to know how to do something is good until you’re faced with something you don’t know how to do.

I like to classify the “what” and the “how” as practices or the actual application of an idea. But where does the idea being applied come from? That’s right…principles – the foundational truth for a fully functional and healthy system. Principles are the whys that define and give direction to the whats and the hows. Once you know WHY you should be doing something, you either figure out WHAT to do and find someone who knows HOW to do it even if that means it is not you. The whys drive the expected outcome.

WGC specializes in defining principles and helping leaders put them into practice. I want to help build the Kingdom by pouring my knowledge and experience into the lives of leaders and volunteers who can help take their church or organization to the next level. It frustrates me to know end to witness unused potential, wrong equipment purchased, poorly trained or motivated volunteers, more money spent than necessary, and all because they don’t know any better.

I can help. I want to help. I want to see the churches and organizations God is calling people to all over the country become what they can be.
